                                                                   Provider Educator/Assessment Coodinator

 Conduct initial and continuing certifications and utilization reviews with provider agencies, educate and train providers through on-site, web-based venues and provide technical assistance for program stakeholders.

  • Conduct and appropriately document provider retrospective reviews utilizing KEPRO UM Guidelines, Medicaid Manual, and/or TBI manual according to established time frames
  • Conduct provider program certifications (initial/annual)
  • Develop and conduct Waiver provider trainings as contracted
  • Provide technical assistance when requested or identified to enrolled providers 
  • Travel to, conduct, and appropriately administer and document medical eligibility assessments within prescribed timelines
  • Participate in denial hearings as necessary
  • Contact applicant/members referent and/or facilities to confirm medical information
  • Participate in inter-rater reliability activities to ensure consistent administration of assessments and adherence to assessment protocols
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor degree in Human Service field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year experience working directly with persons with brain injury and be licensed as an RN, Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Rehab Counselor, or Psychologist
  • Must have the Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) certification, or be willing to obtain the CBIS cert within six (6) months of employment
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft software
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Good interpersonal communication and flexibility
  • Must be willing to travel to homes and facilities within the catchment area (travel outside one's catchment area is occasionally required to fill-in for others or to attend staff meetings/events).
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing are required
  • Must have the ability to review and analyze documentation against set standards
  • Preferred candidates will have direct experience with conducting the Pre-Admission Screening and Rancho Los Amigos Scale, as well as experience developing and presenting on various training topics
