Job Description

 RN Clinical Assessor

RN to work within the Aged and Disabled Waiver (ADW) and Nursing Facility (NF) PAS programs. RN will perform education and initial/annual medical eligibility assessments for ADW program participants and serve as a back-up for NF PAS reviews.

  • Travel to, conduct and appropriately administer and document assessments within prescribed timelines
  • Review and complete prior authorization for Nursing Facility PAS Services
  • Participate in inter-rater reliability activities
  • Participate in denial hearings as necessary
  • Contact physicians and facilities to confirm medical information
  • Other duties as assigned.


  •  Active, unrestricted WV Registered Nurse and active/valid WV driver’s license required; BSN preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience with Aging population or with persons with disabilities (pref'd exp with WV Aged & Disabled Waiver Program)
  • Knowledge of the ADW program policies and procedures required
  • Willing to travel to homes and facilities within the catchment area
  • Must have active and clear WV driver's license
  • Must be organized and have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to accurately assess medical conditions and symptoms and functional abilities
