JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:            HumanResources Coordinator

REPORTS TO:      HumanResources Director

DEPARTMENT:  HumanResources

FLSA STATUS:     Nonexempt

Summary Description

The HR Coordinator’s responsibilities include applyingbusiness knowledge and human resources expertise. The HR Coordinator assists inproviding a wide range of HR support and advice to the organization on avariety of HR topics; including onboarding, compliance, recruitment,performance management, policy advice, general HR support and HR best practiceswhile facilitating a positive relationship with all company personnel.

Accountabilities

  • Performs a variety of office duties, including,but limited to; Document preparation, proofreading and distributing letters,documents and memorandums with special emphasis on confidential documents;operates a variety of office equipment, software, HRIS.  Inputs information to the HRIS system. 
  • Processes confidential employment documents andother materials in accordance with established procedures or standinginstructions. 
  • Provides administrative support including, butnot limited to, processing insurance invoices, COBRA, 401(k), unemploymentclaims, worker's compensation, maintaining employment files, and a variety ofother human resources functions of a clerical and confidential nature.
  • Coordinates, prepares, schedules and conductsemployment related programs including new hire orientation.
  • Provides guidance, advice, and assistance onsuch matters as employee services and benefits; management-employeecommunications; performance management; conflict resolution; and equalemployment opportunity.
  • Prepares scheduled and ad hoc reports asrequired or requested.
  • Maintains calendars of activities, meetings andvarious events; arranges meetings and makes appointments; participates inspecial projects as assigned.  Preparespresentations using presentation software and Power Point.  Participates on committees and teams asassigned.
  • Prepares required paperwork for new employeesand other departmental functions; e.g., creating employee files andmaintaining/updating organizational charts. Assists in the coordination of temporary employee program.  I-9 Management.
  • Maintains and stores records, files, logs andreports; maintains sensitive and personnel files; periodically reviews andpurges files in accordance with applicable laws, regulations andguidelines.  Acts as custodian of allemployee’s records.  Receives and routesincoming mail.
  • Management of the HR Department’s communication;Outlook HR In Box (Both incoming and outgoing) and the HR Voice Mail Box. 
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • An Associate’s degree in Human Resources orBusiness is preferred or any equivalent combination of relevant experience andcollege education yielding the appropriate human resources skills.

Skills, Knowledge Abilities(SKA)

 

  • Adaptability/flexibility is critical.
  • Tactfully and professionally communicate andinteract with a diverse population of internal/external customers.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications(Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Customer focused, results orienteddecision-maker capable of building and maintaining professional relationshipsin a team environment.
  • The nature of this position exposes theincumbent to sensitive materials and requires a high level of confidentiality.
  • HRIS Experience

Experience

 

  • 2 years’ experience in an HR role.
