Database Administrator

100% Remote Opportunity

Summary Description:

Provides core database administrative support to the corporation. Responsible for all aspects of database administration from day to day maintenance tasks to responding to urgent requests. Working collaboratively with fellow employees to resolve issues and provide support are all part of the day to day tasks required by this position. Under the direction of the Sr. Database Administrator, will work on both short and long term projects to benefit the company.


  • First responder for incidents, outages and change requests         
  • Monitor performance of database systems resources and query throughput        
  • Monitor and maintain database storage resources           
  • Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defragment, and database statistics
  • SQL Server Installation, Upgrades, Migrations and Configuration
  • Maintain database documentation as required  
  • Proactively monitor and respond to SQL database Alert(s).           
  • On-call requirements to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations

  • Preferred:  College Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and/OR experience.

Skills, Knowledge Abilities

  • Position requires a broad-based understanding of information technology at a troubleshooting and support level.
  • Administrative experience with SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Naturally curious, enjoys digging deep to uncover information

  • 5+ years experience as a Production database administrator in SQL Server and Oracle environments.
  • 5+ years experience in Transact SQL, PL/SQL.
  • Cloud install and administrative experience (Azure, AWS)
  • Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Golden Gate
  • Experience in environments subject to HIPAA and/or SOX regulations
  • Oracle DBA Certification(s)

PLUS Qualifications:

  • Experience installing and administering SSRS, SSAS
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and disk configurations
  • Microsoft SQL Server DBA Certification
  • Informatica
  • Progress OpenEdge
