JOB TITLE:            Director,Operations

REPORTS TO:      VicePresident, Operations         

DEPARTMENT:  Operations

Summary Description

This position has full P&L responsibility and providesoverall planning, direction and control to assigned lines of business toachieve operating and financial goals. 

Accountabilities

  • Establish action plans, critical indicators,timetables, and performance measures to guarantee high quality services andtimely deliverables to all customers. Ensure that contractual service standards and customer expectations aresatisfied.  Continually evaluatepriorities to determine if they are consistent with customer(s) objectives.
  • Develop regional long-term and short-termoperating and financial goals including budgets and forecasts to ensureeffective operations and optimum profitability.
  • Work with management team to develop and enhancethe operational structure including skill set requirements, gap analysis andtraining plans. Formulate business processes and relationships that move awayfrom traditional methodologies and set a new standard for collaboration onquality, service integration and cost management.
  • Implement contracting strategies and programsthat reduce cost as well as maximize revenue streams.  Provide advice and assistance to leaders inthe planning, implementation, and evaluation of modifications to existing operations,systems, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective customerrapport and mutually beneficial business relationships with customers. Developand implement programs to build and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Select and retain staff compatible with KEPRO’smission, vision and values and ensure staff is aligned with the organization’sculture/goals/objectives.
  • Drive and support a “one-company” orientationcollaborating with partners across the entire organization; e.g., operations,human resources, IT, business development, data warehouse, contract compliance,etc. Perform cross-regional activities that enhance operatingefficiencies. 
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in thedevelopment of products and services responsive to current and future needs.Support and participate in strategic planning and execution to enhance growth,profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company’soperations. Collaborate with leadership in the development of new and enhancedproducts and services. Represent the organization at internal, local, state,and national meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical, allied health,business or related field.  Master’sdegree in public health, public administration, hospital administration,nursing or business administration preferred.

Skills, KnowledgeAbilities

  • Ability to work within KEPRO’s decision-makingand organizational structure.
  • Skill in examining and re-examining operationsand procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing newstrategies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of U.S. healthcare industry; preferablywith experience in both public and private sector. 
  • Expertise in employee development andperformance management skills.
  • Ability to analyze resources and environmentappropriate to the scope of responsibility and design a course of actionconsistent with KEPRO’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Demonstrated achievement in P&L management,operational process engineering, remote operations management and new businessdevelopment support.
  • Ability to successfully manage change andgrowth.
  • Knowledge of business development, strategicplanning, tactical implementation and creation of business partnerships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing differingcustomer needs.
  • Ability to participate as a team memberfostering collaborative decision-making among leadership, committees, teams orwork groups of diverse composition.

Experience

  • Three to seven years of recent managementexperience in medical utilization review.
  • Significant experience managing contractoperations including contract administration functions.
  • Public and private sector healthcare experienceand/or has been involved in providing services to government or commercialprograms.
  • Ten years of progressive operational leadershipof a public and/or private sector healthcare entity with at least five years ina position of direct operational authority for an entire operation.
