Medical Director


Provide the principal leadership to the operation on all medical aspects relating to the peer review process, provider audits,utilization review activities, case management, and other activities requiring clinical leadership and consultation.  Evaluates, redirects and/or responds to inquires; provides recommendations concerning suggested modifications for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.  Participates in activities specific to contractual requirements such as hearings. etc.
  • Responsible for orienting all medical personnel
  • Is responsible for final decisions with respect to al medical matters resulting from peer review and other medical matters resulting from the Recipient Face-to-Face Assessments process
  • While the position encompasses a wide range of clinical line responsibilities, additional key responsibilities include assisting and promoting business development and strategic planning activities.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. with active, non-restricted Florida license
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in State Medicaid programs with clinical care processes and outcomes, clinical guidelines, medical economics research, particularly the evaluation of medical utilization, population-based care practices, and provider billing practices. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Utilization Management/Review and/or Case Management
  • Minimum 2 years' as a Medical Director
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and private health related activities.
  • Adaptable with strong collaborative management style, a creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and a team player who promotes the concepts of people working together. Ability to adapt to frequently changing work parameters.
