JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:            OutreachSpecialist

REPORTS TO:      Director,Marketing & Communications/Director, Operations     

DEPARTMENT:  Operations

FLSA STATUS:     Exempt

Summary Description

Responsible for identifying appropriate creativeinterventions for quality improvement and customer service projects. Design,implement and evaluate the effectiveness of community campaigns and preparedetailed reports of projects and results. Contribute to educational campaignstargeting healthcare providers, consumers and influencers. Communicates theorganization’s message to internal/external customers and promotes KEPRO’s rolein programs through outreach to beneficiaries and/or other entities.

Accountabilities

  • Research interventions and gather informationabout contract-recommended interventions to determine effectiveness. Documentresults, feedback and lessons learned on each intervention.
  • Prepare and present educational programs toMedicare beneficiary groups throughout Ohio. Schedule and maintain reports ofpatient, provider and physician speaking engagements/presentations made byKEPRO.
  • Work with operations on multiple projects and collaboratewith project teams to plan interventions to reach physicians and providers.Document results, feedback and lessons learned from each intervention.
  • Assist operations teams in designing practicaltools associated with interventions (e.g. reminder systems) that can be sharedwith collaborators.
  • Represents KEPRO at meetings with potentialpartners (e.g. Health Departments, medical societies) where potentialinterventions are discussed. Act as a liaison to participating agencies, localsenior centers, legislators and senior serving professionals.
  • Collaborate with project teams in thedevelopment of appropriate communication mediums and materials andidentification of effective distribution channels for specific targetaudiences.
  • Collaborate in the development and monitoring ofproject plans, timelines and budgets and assists in the completion of projectreports when possible.
  • Work with data analytics team to identifyopportunities for improvement, high-risk target populations and evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with current Statelicensure strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing orPublic Speaking may be considered.
  • Must be fluent in medical terminology andfamiliar with Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
  • Must possess excellent communication andorganizational skills. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, desktop publishingand graphic software skills preferred.
  • Ability to develop needs assessment methods,both qualitative and quantitative research for information related to databasesof public health.
  • Ability to work independently on assignedprojects, especially cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establishand maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety ofindividuals; attention to detail; ability to work independently.
  • Ability to satisfy all required constituenciesis essential. 

Experience

               

  • Four years progressively responsible experiencein public health research, data analysis, communications and behavioralintervention programs or marketing campaigns for targeted groups.
  • Prior experience in public speaking required.
  • Facilitation skills helpful.
