Job Description


As a member of the Business Development team works closely with the Proposal Manager to ensure timely submittal of competitive proposals that fully meet or exceed RFP and/or other customer requirements; assists in the development and support of proposal themes, and provides editing and quality assurance support. 

  • Writes and edits proposal text, ensuring compliance with RFP instructions and responsiveness to evaluation criteria. 
  • Works with the capture manager and proposal manager to understand the win strategy and value proposition, and incorporates win themes and discriminators in text. Partners with SMEs to acquire background and knowledge, and writes clear and compelling text.  
  • Edits proposal text to improve clarity; messaging and alignment with win themes and discriminators; and responsiveness to RFP. Develops graphic concepts to illustrate subject matter.
  • Writes, edits, formats, packages and delivers proposal content under tight deadlines. Supports proposal reviews, including consolidating and evaluating comments and working with authors to incorporate changes. Assists in final proposal production, including book check and packaging/shipping proposal deliverables.
  • Additional responsibilities may include writing and editing executive summaries, past performance, white papers, Request for Information (RFI) responses, market surveys, corporate communications, and marketing and collateral materials. 


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5 years proposal writing and editing experience. Government writing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a healthcare environment.  
  • Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills including a high degree of comfort leading and interacting with diverse groups at varying levels of Management (internal/external)
  • Advanced editing skills; Strict attention to details, ability to review and edit proposal content for compliancy, clarity and proper use of terminology
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat required; knowledge of Microsoft Project desirable.
  • Must have strong organizational and management skills with the ability to manage multiple priority and deadline while meeting quality standards/deliverables
  • Occasional business travel
