Summary Description

 Responsible for analyzing health care data and utilizing the data to identify potential business opportunities, often in a client facing roll. Will be involved in other analytical projects that relate to business opportunities, financial reconciliation and outcomes research.

 Accountabilities

  • Primary point of contact/ “account manager” for analytics department. Understand client contract requirements and type of work.
  • Deliver and present reports, adding appropriate QA, analysis, and commentary.
  • Delivers presentations to stakeholders, including internal and external clients.
  • Provides project guidance and oversight.
  • Monitor production and distribution of automated reports.
  • Manage requests for ad hoc reporting.
  • Provide timely ad hoc reporting as able or facilitate production and prioritization with technical team.
  • Gather report requirements, assign priorities and package for technical team.
  • Perform quality checks of all analytics queries, reports, and applications and identifies disparities and actionable resolutions.
  • Prioritizes own consulting projects; organizes project workflow; and provides timely updates to Director and/or Vice President.
  • Stays current on state and federal laws and policies, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher educational-level statistician required. 
  • Clinical education considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in using word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
  • Familiarity with advanced software, including statistical applications (such as SAS and SPSS).
  • Working knowledge of database environment, key tables and joins.
  • Understanding of how workflow processing relates to database transactions.
  • Knowledge of Project management within a matrix reporting environment.
  • Strong staff support and leadership skills
  • Present and explain complex information in ways that are meaningful to varied stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to perform customer service/account management tasks.
  • Strong report creation and presentation ability.
  • Ability to provide insight and oversee analysis and reporting as it relates to standard and ad hoc on utilization, access, quality of care, and health care costs.
  • Ability to set priorities with multiple stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and understand results in a way which provides insight and clarity for customers.
  • Ability to motivate consulting staff across all levels to strive towards attainment of objectives and goals.
  • Ability to provide testimony in the event of any legal proceeding.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience with analytics and reporting.
  • Background in healthcare, risk management, statistics, insurance, or related areas
  • Experience with selection of record samples to be retrospectively reviewed
